colonialism the establishment of a colony in a territory or settlement by people from another land

intermarriage a marriage between a man and woman who have chosen to cross over religious boundaries, ethnic/cultural boundaries, racial boundaries, or class boundaries
oral histories information obtained usually by storytelling with persons whose experiences and memories have a special significance; stories not written down
Swahili African language, found mostly in east Africa
