Unit 5: Crisis and Change
Lesson G: Theaters and Consequences of World War II
Activity 1: Faces of World War II
Nationalism played a major role in promoting the ideas of the leaders of countries participating in World War II. (You will recall that nationalism took different forms and different names in different countries.) Both military and civilian leaders commonly made use of nationalist propaganda to mobilize troops and the people at home, as well as to dehumanize the enemy.
Directions: Apply what you have learned in the last two lessons and your prior knowledge to review the flashcards of quotes from and major ideological positions and actions of major leaders of the countries involved in World War II.
