developed country a place with an economic system built mostly on manufacturing and technology, rather than agriculture (farming); citizens have access to health care; citizens are largely an informed/educated public
developing country countries which have not achieved a significant degree of industrialization relative to their populations, and which have, in most cases a medium to low standard of living; note that there is no established convention for designation of "developed" and "developing" countries
globalization the process by which regional economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through a global network of political ideas through communication, transportation, and trade
integration incorporation as equals into society or an organization of individuals of different groups
less developed country country whose state of economic development is characterized by a low national income, a high rate of population growth
multinational corporation an enterprise that manages production or delivers services in more than one country
