You have learned how to look at history like an historian. You have examined the idea of multiple perspectives and you understand that there are different accounts of events in history. Historians have to examine these different accounts to determine what probably happened in history. You have also explored how you can use these skills as a global citizen. In your life you will be exposed to a variety of ideas and competing "news" stories. You will hear candidates for office say different things about the same event or issue. You will also read about events around the world and will hear how different people interpret these events. By using the historical skills you developed in this lesson and those that you will develop in other lessons, you will know how to shift through competing ideas and interpretations. This will help you better understand the world in which you live.
