By 1917, the conditions in Russia had become unbearable for most Russians. The causes of the Russian Revolution were rooted in centuries of economic hardship and political oppression under the rule of the czar. Unrest led to revolution as desperate citizens joined together to overthrow their government, pushing for reforms and more rights.
