From the 17th through the 19th century, the Ottoman Empire and the Russian Empire fought a series of wars. One of the main sources of friction between the two empires was possession of the area of Crimea, on the northern shore of the Black Sea. In this activity you will explore the causes and effects of the Crimean War.
